Shandra began her creative journey as a set designer for local theaters and by crafting eye-catching storefront displays, where she refined her ability to merge artistry with purpose. Her career soon expanded to include showroom design for leading furniture retailers and collaborations with architects and design colleagues on high-end, multimillion-dollar projects. Recognizing her innate talent for transforming living spaces into harmonious blends of beauty and function, she founded her own firm, Signature Designs Interiors Events & Custom Decor, bringing a fresh and distinctive approach to each project.
Her passion for the arts was first ignited at Texas Southern University, where she studied Art History under the renowned curator Dr. Alvia Wardlaw. During this time, she co-founded an art gallery in Houston’s historic 3rd Ward alongside fellow alum Rickey Donato, creating opportunities for emerging artists to exhibit their work. Shandra continued her design education at Houston Community College, earning an AAS in Interior Design, and later received her BA from the Art Institute of Houston, further deepening her knowledge and technical skills.
Shandra’s creativity extends far beyond interiors. Her work in event design earned her the “Event Designer of the Year” award in 2011 from the Houston Association of Event Planners. She also thrives as a graphic designer, developing impactful branding for small businesses, and launched Party Elements, an online boutique featuring handcrafted party décor. Now integrating her talents in set styling, event and interior design, graphic design, and real estate, Shandra offers a truly comprehensive approach to transforming spaces—whether for everyday living, celebrations, or marketing a home.
