Icon: Audrey Hepburn

Definition:  classic style (fashion) – a style that’s eternal; Classic style characteristics: clean silhouettes, tailored cuts, neat hems, neutral colors,  fine natural fabrics, simple stripes, minimal detailing.

Audrey Hepburn is the epitome of classic style.  She is recognized as a Hollywood fashion icon.  She has been inducted into the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame.  The American Film Institute has ranked her as the third-greatest female screen legend during the Golden Age of Hollywood. And she has the filmography to prove it.

She has dazzled many fans with her elegance, sophistication, and her undying commitment to helping others. But most of all, she made a powerful impact in the world of fashion with her simple but glamorous styles.  Her iconic stylings have influenced many women for many years including myself.  Being a Hollywood star, you are prone to be opulent, flashy, and trendy because that’s what is expected.  What resonated with me about Audrey was her simple, well-composed, yet elegant fashions.

She is the inspiration of “the capsule wardrobe”.  A capsule wardrobe is a curated selection that can be interchangeable with a few pieces that compliment each other.  It is a collection of classic pieces composed primarily of neutral colors.  This type of wardrobe offers a variety of outfits with a small number of clothes.

With that being said,  I have curated some inspiring pieces for you that reflect Audrey’s classic style; very simple, very elegant, and very sophisticated.
