One Room Challenge Fall 2021- Week 1
HELLO!
Welcome to Signature Living by Shandra! I’m proud to announce that I will be a Guest Participant in the One Room Challenge (ORC) for Fall 2021.
First, I would like to introduce myself, my name is Shandra and I am the Principal Designer and Owner of Signature Designs Interiors Events & Custom Decor. I have been designing homes, special events, retail and commercial spaces for over 15 years. I graduated from the Art Institute of Houston with a degree in Interior Design. I owned an art gallery and represented local artists for 8 years and loved every minute of it. Art and design have always been a part of my life so I decided to open my own firm, Signature Designs Interiors Events & Custom Decor.
My boutique interior design firm is based in my hometown of Houston, Texas. I am a southern girl who believes that “everyone is entitled to great design.” By using the basic principles of design, you can achieve a space that embraces your signature style. I love designing beautiful spaces that are fun, fabulous, and functional.
Enough about me, let me tell you about my participation in the challenge. I will be transforming an entryway. The dimensions are 4’ 2” x 11’ 4” with an 8’ ceiling. The plan is to create an awe-inspiring space that will stimulate the visual senses of anyone who enters the home. The style is contemporary combined with my favorite color palette, black and white accented with pops of color, lots of art, and pretty gold things.
I will introduce you to the details of my concept, design plan, and before photos in next week’s blog post. There will be DIY projects and design tips during this transformation. Every Thursday for the next 8 weeks, you will be able to view my design journey here on my blog and my social media sites. The ORC is not a competition, but rather a celebration of creativity, inspiration, and original ideas. The One Room challenge® will provide participants with a supportive, enthusiastic forum in which to share the process of transforming a room. Click here to learn more about ORC.
